Green Committee 11.16.11

Green Committee
Nov. 16, 2011, meeting minutes

Present: Court Klein, BerryDunn; Mike Whitten, Manchester Transit Authority; Bob Duval, TFMoran; Will
Stewart, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.

Chairman Bob Duval called the meeting to order at 8:06 a.m.

1. Welcome & Introductions

2. Green Pledge program

  • Application – The now finalized application will be shared with the GMCC Board of Directors next week. An online and formatted print version will be available in early December, at which point committee member’s businesses and other Chamber members will be asked to complete the application for feedback purposes and to build early momentum for the January, 2012, launch.
  • Window decal design — Two decals, both featuring a green version of the GMCC logo, will be printed. One will say “Green Business” underneath the logo, while the other will say “Green Business Leader.” The latter is for those businesses which meet the highest Green Pledge criteria.
  • Kick-off ideas — Ideas suggested to spread the word about the Green Pledge Program included sharing it via: an article in the GMCC newsletter, in a GMCC email blast, a press release, sharing it with the other GMCC EconDev committees, announcing it at all upcoming GMCC events and having the application and a flyer available at said events and at the GMCC front desk.

3. Green DASH rolling press conference?
A “rolling press conference” aboard the Green DASH to bring additional attention and ridership to Manchester Transit Authority’s free hybrid-biodiesel downtown shuttle will be held on a yet-to-be-determined date January.

4. Old/New Business
Bob Duval suggested holding another Green Summit focusing on green transportation issues, in early 2012. Bob and Will Stewart will meet with GMCC VP of Marketing and Public Relations Gemma French to discuss possibilities.

5. Adjourn

Chairman Bob Duval adjourned the meeting at 9:24 a.m.
