Economic Development & Advocacy

Access Greater Manchester Committee

Metro Center-NH is a regional economic development initiative that seeks to establish a regional network of practitioners who envision a collaborative approach to promoting the regional quality of life, the business community, and the development of each individual community in relation to each other. This initiative brings together public and private stakeholders from each of the 13 communities surrounding Manchester into one collective entity through which issues affecting the economic development of each individual community can be addressed with one voice.

Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee exists to monitor and track legislation and government-related issues on a federal and state level. The committee makes formal recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding positions the Chamber should adopt in regard to various issues. Once recommendations are adopted, the committee assists the Chamber in promoting its position.

Downtown Committee

This committee’s mission is to promote and enhance downtown Manchester’s economic vitality, cultural, historic resources, and quality of life.

Infrastructure Committee

The Infrastructure Committee ensures that greater Manchester’s physical infrastructure (i.e. roads and highways, groundwater and sewage, zoning and planning ordinances, etc.) meets the needs of the region so that we, as a community, maintain our competitive advantage in relation to other parts of the state and the New England area.

Green Committee

The Green Committee acts as a catalyst to facilitate, educate, promote and encourage sustainable green business practices that will lead to positive, measurable business and community results.

Events

Citizen of the Year Celebration Committee

The Annual Dinner is one of the largest events the GMCC hosts, with attendance topping 700. There is a new theme each year and the evening culminates with the prestigious Citizen of the Year announcement. The committee selects a dinner menu, secures a featured speaker, issues invitations, and a host of additional tasks. This committee is ideal for members who like to be task-focused with a limited time commitment. The majority of the work for this committee is done from November to February.

Golf Classic Committee

This major, annual Chamber tournament is a ‘hit’ with members. While the field of players may get more competitive each year, it remains a friendly and relaxed event. This is a great way to spend a day away from the office while still getting work done! The Chamber Golf Classic Committee is responsible for all aspects of the event; from planning and organization, to promotion and prizes.

Tri-City Committee

One of the Chamber’s premiere annual events, the Tri-City Expo is the largest business-to-business trade show in New Hampshire. This expo attracts over 200 exhibitors and more than 3,000 attendees each year. Members of the Tri-City Committee are at the center of all the activity, helping to shape the event by developing the overall theme of the show, securing and organizing exhibitors, and promoting the event to the public. This committee works together with representatives from the Greater Concord and Nashua Chambers.

Leadership Greater Manchester Steering Committee

Leadership Greater Manchester exists to recognize and nurture leadership talents from diverse sectors of the local community through the exchange of viewpoints and experiences.

The Leadership Greater Manchester alumni committee exists to connect and engage the more than 700 alumni of the Leadership Greater Manchester program.

Ambassador

Ambassador Committee

Ambassadors serve as peer contacts and support for members, providing information and assistance on how to best utilize the Chamber’s services and abundant resources. Ambassadors contact all new members to welcome them to the Chamber and invite them to an upcoming event. As part of our member retention effort, Ambassadors also contact existing members to evaluate Chamber programs and address any member concerns. In addition, ambassadors assist in staffing monthly events. The size of the committee is limited, but enthusiastic and informed members who are interested in applying to this popular committee should contact our office.
