Economic Development The goal of the Economic Development department is to provide added value to members (and key communities within our region) by building an agenda and developing activities to address key economic development issues. This department will strive to ensure and advance a regional and statewide perspective that serves our members in building a quality environment to conduct, sustain, and attract business.
In 2008 there will be a continued focus on advocacy through economic development initiatives and continued dedication to the advancement of the Chamber’s priorities, strategic goals, and general areas of focus. This will be accomplished by • Sustaining a committee, driven by volunteers from our membership, to advocate relevant positions and take leadership roles in key focus areas.
• Expanding membership involvement in the development and advancement of the department’s priorities. • Continuing to advocate for areas that affect the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport and its growth. • Monitoring and become involved in the areas of: • Water • Workforce Housing • Regional transportation • Education • Technology • Land use • Cultural diversity • Power/Energy • Unemployment • Beautification • Public Safety • Hospitality • Green Business Practices
