Leadership In Action – Granite Street Beautification
On Wednesday, August 16, Leadership Greater Manchester (LGM) Alumni and friends took part in a “Day-of-Action,” in collaboration with the Manchester Department of Parks and Recreation and the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC). A small but mighty crew from the following organizations, took part: World Affairs Council of NH, Hoyle Tanner & Associates, Inc., UNH Cooperative Extension, People’s United Bank, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Manchester, Radisson Hotel of Manchester, and Rath, Young and Pignatelli.
Volunteers worked on beautifying the islands on Granite Street by installing weed fabric, planting trees, shrubs, perennials and ground cover. Three pads were poured for out location, and all the beds were also mulched.
There was an incredible amount of work to be done, and these volunteers accomplished it with pride! The GMCC and LGM Alumni Committee strive to initiate programming that encourages LGM Alumni to make a difference and remain active in their community.
The GMCC is thankful for volunteers who value placemaking and beautification efforts!
