Manchester School District Seeking Industry Representatives for Career Day at Central High School

By January 23, 2018Member Insights

Collaborating with the Manchester School District and aligning training programs to meet the workforce needs of Manchester area businesses is a strategic goal of our Chamber. To better connect our Member Businesses with the Manchester School District, we would like to share an exciting opportunity:

On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, the Central High School Guidance Department will be hosting a school-wide Career Day. Every teacher will be matched with a guest speaker, and depending on a student’s schedule, every student could potentially be exposed to at least five career fields! Each business that participates has the opportunity to grab the attention of and interact with hundreds of students. Different than a traditional career fair, professionals will have a very captive audience in a classroom setting.

Central High School is looking for individuals who are:

  • Willing to educate high school students about their industry and business
  • Commit to a whole or half day
  • Provide hands-on activities that will be engaging for students

Representatives the following industries are needed, though if your industry is not listed below, we still need your participation!

  • Airline industry
  • Interpreters
  • Travel guides
  • Museum curators
  • Occupational therapy

If this is something you and your company would be interested in, please fill out the participation form, here.

We encourage you to consider building a relationship with the Manchester School District, its teachers and its students by sharing your story at Central High School’s Career Day!
