Manchester Young Professionals Summer Update
A Letter from Julia Whitney, Advisory Council Chair, MYP
As the summer slowdown approaches, the Manchester Young Professionals, a program of the Greater Manchester Chamber, is in full gear! I hope your business has been able to engage with us by attending or sponsoring
one of our programs.
The mission of the Manchester Young Professionals, unveiled in November 2018, continues to remain the guide for our engaged Council and Committees. It is our mission to engage, connect, and serve as the collective voice for young professionals (YPs) by providing emerging opportunities for leadership, employment, and community building while actively attracting, retaining, and developing a vibrant and collaborative network of YPs in Manchester.
We were thrilled to launch three brand new event series the first half of 2019:
Fast Forward Labs: an entrepreneurship program that aims to provide YPs with an entrepreneurial interest or spirit, access to experts and mentors along with resources and skills to help build their growing business and professional networks.
Find Your Cause: Community Connection Pitch: a pitch-style event, where non-profits delivered a short pitch about their organization, available volunteer and engagement opportunities, and why young professionals might be interested in getting more involved.
Adulting 101: a series geared towards discussing the ins and outs of everyday scenarios that YPs are experiencing both personally and professionally.
Throughout the summer, we will host two more Fast Forward Labs, a Downtown Manchester “Art Hop,” a casual group 5K run, and a Mt. Uncanoonuc hike. Keep an eye on mypn.eventbrite.com for more details and to register!
Lastly, your feedback is so important to us! We want to continue adapting our program of work to reflect what Manchester young professionals want and need. Find us on Facebook and Instagram to join the conversation–
we can’t wait to connect with you!
Looking forward to a great summer and beyond,
