Mike L’Ecuyer Honored as GMC Citizen of the Year
At the Greater Manchester Chamber Annual Dinner and Citizen of the Year Celebration
Michael LāEcuyer, President & CEO of Bellwether Community Credit Union (BCCU), was named Citizen of the Year at the Greater Manchester Chamber (GMC) 2019 Annual Dinner and Citizen of the year Celebration on Thursday, April 18th at the Doubletree by Hilton Manchester Downtown, presented by Eastern Bank. This event sold out, with over 800 members of the business community in attendance to show their support.
The evening began with a reception for all Past Citizens of the Year and event sponsors, hosted byĀ Eversource. Ā Attendees entered through an artisticĀ OracleĀ balloon arch and enjoyed a cocktail reception sponsored byĀ Bellwether Community Credit Union. A convenient registration process was courtesy ofĀ Dartmouth HitchcockĀ andĀ Bank of America. During the cocktail reception, guests documented the evening with a photo booth, provided byĀ Great NH Restaurants. Before dinner began, Past Citizens of the Year were paraded through the crowd thanks toĀ UNH Manchester, and table settings were enjoyed courtesy ofĀ Infinite Equities Group, LLC. Guests found a program at each of their seats, thanks to Wipfli/Howe Riley & Howe, Ā and a selfie stick at each table, thanks toĀ Peopleās United Bank. The main course was sponsored byĀ Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, wine sponsored byĀ LaBelle Winery, champagne sponsored by Brady Sullivan Properties, and following dinner, a dessert reception was sponsored byĀ AutoFair. Due to the support ofĀ Catholic Medical Center,Ā NBT BankĀ andĀ TD Bank, an inspiring video about Michael was played during the event. The entire vibe event was made possible byĀ Events United.
The theme of the evening was represented in the words used to describe our honoree, Michael LāEcuyer: Neighborly, Uplifting, Noble, Devoted, Gracious, Charitable. The dĆ©cor for the celebration and the incredible centerpieces, sponsored by St. Maryās Bank was designed by Spectrum Marketing Companies and Print NH.

Since 1954 the Greater Manchester Chamber has presented one outstanding individual the Citizen of the Year Award. This outstanding group of individuals has been paramount in shaping the GMCās agenda and the community. The Citizen of the Year award recognizes an individual with outstanding leadership and citizenship in the community, while demonstrating exemplary vision, civic pride and commitment to the betterment of society. To be nominated, the individual should live in the greater Manchester area and his or her activities should be centered in the same area. Recognition is given for leadership and performance in several areas of community service over a period of years.
