Transportation Highways The Merrimack Valley is strategically situated at the intersection of the state’s major north/south and east/west highway systems: Interstates 93 and 293, the F.E. Everett Turnpike, and Routes 3 and 101. Bus, Taxi and Limousine Service The Manchester Transit Authority runs regularly scheduled bus service throughout the city. Service from Manchester to Boston and other New England cities is available through Concord Trailways and several other bus lines. The city also has a number of reservation-based taxi and limousine services. Airport Manchester and the outlying communities are served by Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, one of the fastest-growing airports in the nation and home to 7 national airlines. A record 3.6 million passengers used the terminal in 2003, and in 2004 the airport opened a 74,000 square-foot addition. The airport also serves the region as New England’s third largest cargo airport. |
