What makes your company or work environment unique?
The backbone of TRM Microwave is the incredibly smart, skilled, and talented team members that work diligently to create custom solutions and high-quality products. TRM’s custom innovations make this country safer through its contributions to defense systems. The TRM team impacts the safety of people around the globe, and we take great pride in that. My executive team and I have made it our mission to invest in our people in meaningful ways. We have worked diligently to attract and retain key personnel on every level.
What accomplishments within your company are you most proud of?
There are two huge milestones in 2020 for TRM Microwave; the company’s 50th anniversary and a significant investment in facility expansion, which will double our footprint. As I reflect on celebrating 50 years as an innovator in the RF and microwave industry, I cannot help but look back on our 25th anniversary, which was my first year at the Company. Now that we have reached our 50th anniversary, I take enormous satisfaction and pride in reaching this major milestone. I am so proud to reflect on the accomplishments, hard work and dedication, that was sparked by the founder, Tony Tirollo, and all the team members throughout the years. I am thrilled to open our expanded facility in Bedford, which will provide bolstered manufacturing and production capacity. The state-of-the-art facility will allow the company to keep up with increasing customer demands and significant company growth.
What advice would you give to up and coming leaders in the Greater Manchester community?
Take every opportunity to learn from your team members. I was given a wonderful opportunity to gain knowledge on every aspect of this business – from finance to sales to engineering – from our founder, Tony Tirollo. He also instilled in me the importance of company culture, and at TRM, our team is family. Stay actively involved in all departments of the company, but also empower your employees to do what they do best. Consistent, positive reinforcement to staff members goes a long way and encourages a happy work environment.
What attributes do you think make our business community and Greater Manchester region special?
We are fortunate to be part of a community that celebrates small business. Small business does not mean small ideas or a small impact. There are some outstanding companies in our region that are driving innovations felt around the world. TRM Microwave is one of many companies that is proud to call New Hampshire home, and strives to prove our community has plenty to offer on a global scale.
